Introduction To NEET

The following article provides an outline for NEET Biology Questions. The full form of NEET is National Eligibility Entrance Test, and it started in 2013. Before the enactment of the NMC Act of 2019, there were several different National and State wise medical entrance tests held, and also individual Medical college specific-entrance tests like AIIMS and JIPMER were held, but now it has been combined into one single test called NEET since 2019. It was first started and monitored by the Central Board of Secondary Education or CBSE between 2013 to 2018. Later, the control was passed to the National Testing Agency or NTA in 2019 to conduct the exams; the NTA then reports to the Directorate General of Health Services to produce the exam results for allocating the seats to the selected candidates. Basic general knowledge for all, The Directorate General of Health Services falls under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and State Counseling Authorities. National Eligibility Entrance Test provides admissions opportunities to more than 60,000 seats across India for aspiring undergrad students in the field of medical studies.

The degrees offered post-qualification of NEET are MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BUMS and BHMS. There are two types of NEET exams categorized as NEET-UG (under- graduation) and NEET-PG (post-graduation), both administered by NTA. The basic educational requirement to appear for NEET-UG is to have a solid background and qualifying marks (total aggregate) in Physics, Chemistry and Biology. NEET-PG exam is for candidates pursuing advanced or master’s degrees in medicine like MD or MS and other post-grad medical degrees. NEET is held annually across India with a duration of 3 hours in over 11 different languages, having a total of 720 marks.

What Is NEET Exam?

NEET, also known as the National Eligibility Entrance Test, is a medical entrance test for aspiring and pursuing the career path to be a Medical professional. This exam was previously referred to as the All-India Pre-Medical Test or AIPMT. NEET is basically a pre-assessment entrance test for those students who want to have a medical degree. These medical degrees, which you can apply for, includes MBBS (basic graduation degree), BDS (basic graduation degree in dental) and AYUSH (basic graduation degree in the field of Ayurveda, Naturopathy and Homeopathy).

So to understand this clearly, we can say that NEET is the combination of all the previously held State and National Medical exams formed into a singular All-India medical entrance test since 2019 under the newly enacted NMC Act of 2019 by the Govt. of India.

NEET Biology Syllabus

Here are the basic details of the biology syllabus of the NEET exam of 2021:

• From the 11^th standard, we have topics like Human physiology, Plant Physiology, Structural organization of plant and animals, Cell Structure and Functions, Animal kingdom, Digestion & Absorption, Biomolecules, Diversity in the Living World and others.
• From the 12^th standard, we have topics like Evolution, Reproduction, Reproductive Health, Ecology and Environment, Human Health & Disease, Body, Fluids & Circulation, Biotechnology, Biology and Human welfare, Genetics and others also.
