Introduction To NDA Full Form

The full form of the NDA abbreviation is National Defense Academy. This is the military academy that gives training for candidates who offer military services for the nation through Army, Navy, and Air Force. Here candidates are trained up as required by the respective services along with academics and also candidates are offered degree certificates.

National Defense Academy (NDA) exam is the most prominent entrance exam for joining the Indian military services which are conducted by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). NDA exam is conducted 2 times a year, in 2 phases i.e., written exam and SSB interview. The candidates who are shortlisted by UPSC based on their performance in the written exam are called up for an SSB interview.

1. Know The Syllabus

2. Know Exam Pattern

NDA exam paper has all objective-type questions. There is a negative mark of -0.33 for the wrong answer.

3. Be Thorough With The Topics As Prescribed By UPSC

• Mathematics: Just go through the syllabus given by the UPSC and revise your academic knowledge which you learned during your school/college time.
• General Ability Test: Instead of referring to a lot of general knowledge books, be a regular newspaper reader, try to read or watch most authenticated news and only focus on the topics which are relevant to your NDA exam.

4. Revise Previous Question Papers

Practice more and more previous years exam papers which will improve your ability to judge the correct answer quickly.

5. Time Management

Set a time for each practice paper, then you will get an idea of how you can reduce the time-consuming steps for blotting the right answer.

6. Take Mock Test

After covering all syllabus and practicing sufficient previous question papers, you must take mock tests so that you can analyze your performance in all aspects like time taken, wrong answers, etc., and improve yourself wherever necessary.

7. Physical Fitness

Apart from this be calm, take good food and have good sleep which is very important. Regular aerobic exercises between the scheduled study timings help your mental health fit.

NDA Application Form

• Only online application is valid for the NDA exam and candidates are required to download the application form from the official website of UPSC, i.e., http://upsconline.nic.in.
• Candidates should fill the date of birth carefully as recorded in the school/college certificates as once submitted and accepted by the commission, further changes are not allowed.
