What Is CAT Exam?

CAT or Common Admission Test is a mandatory entrance test for courses like MBA or PGDM.
Every year, this test is conducted at the national level by one of the IIMs. In 2020, the IIM Indore conducted the CAT 2020, and this year CAT 2021 will be conducted by IIM Ahmedabad.

CAT exam is an MCQ and non-MCQ-based aptitude test. Before striking of Covid, the exam used to have 180 minutes and carried 100 questions. But due to government restrictions, the conducting board has decided to reduce the time and number of questions since CAT 2020. For CAT 2021 also, it is expected to follow the same structure as CAT 2020.

Visit the official website of the CAT 2021 exam.
Enter the details required like Email ID, contact number, birth date.

After successful registration, conducting body will send an ID and password to complete the application process.

This ID and password are used throughout the application process for further communication so students are advised to provide working Email Id and contact numbers. After registration, students can progress to application form filling.

Students need to submit the necessary details like personal details, academic details, work experience if applicable, exam center preference, program preference.

CAT exam is a computer-based Mode (CBT) test that is conducted online. Because of changed norms, the duration of the CAT exam is reduced to 120 minutes from 180 minutes. So, now students will get less time for each section.
