Introduction To CAPF

What Is Defence CAPF Exam?
The Defence CAPF exam is conducted once a year and this year UPSC has scheduled the CAPF Exams 2021 on 08 August 2021. The candidates selected through this exam are recruited in one of the seven security forces under the authority of the Indian Home Affairs Ministry.
The forces are as follows:
- Border Security Force (BSF)
- Assam Rifles (AR)
- Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF)
- Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP)
- National Security Guard (NSG)
- Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB)

What Is CAPF?
The CAPF exam is conducted in offline mode all over India and there are three stages involved in the exam:
- Written Exam
- Physical Test
- Final Interview
The recruitment is conducted in three different modes that are given below:
- Gazetted Officers: The candidates are recruited through CAPF Examinations by UPSC.
- Subordinate Officers: These posts are fulfilled by the sub-inspectors that are hired after passing the competitive examinations held by SSC and therefore, they are referred to as Directly Appointed Subordinate Officers.
- Constables: Candidates that are qualified after passing the competitive examinations that are conducted by the Staff Selection Commission or SSC are recruited as constables.
CAPF AC 2021
- The UPSC has already issued notifications for the CAPF AC Exams 2021 that will be held on 08 August 2021.
- Candidates after passing the competitive exam get commissioned to AC or Assistant Commandant (AC) Level in the paramilitary forces.
- It is going to be held for approximately 209 vacancies. Irrespective of gender, candidates can apply for the posts.
