GPSC stands for Gujarat Public Service Commission, which is a reputed organization of the Gujarat state, established by the Indian constitution. The main function of the GPSC is to select the proper aspirants for Gujarat administrative services in the government departments like the forest, human welfare, education, finance, rural and urban development, revenue, etc.

GPSC exam is the state-level highest honored recruitment exam for Gujarat state. It follows a specific selection process to choose the suitable candidates, which includes a written exam and interview. Applicants are supposed to write prelim exams first, then the qualified candidates appear for mains exam. After this, the candidate is shortlisted for an interview.

Before attempting the GPSC exam, aspirants need to be thoroughly prepared as this exam is the toughest and high-ranked state level exam. Aspirants are required to go through all academic subjects, get proper knowledge about current affairs of state, national and international, should get good general knowledge, aptitudes, etc. GPSC conducts recruitment exams when the Gujarat state government demands human resources for its administration. Then GPSC calls for the exam by public notification. More than 3 lakhs graduates from every stream will apply for this for 1500-2000 vacant posts in various departments.

• Know the post you are applying for: The syllabus and subjects may vary based on the post that the candidate is applying for.
• Refer proper books: Since many subjects are generic, lots of books are available for GPSC exam preparation. But candidates need to refer to the book required for the GPSC exam only.
• Know the exam: Candidates need to be aware of exam patterns, timings, and recent cut-off scores. The more the candidate analyzes this point and executes to counter their weaknesses, the more the chances of cracking the exam.
• Solve previous year question papers: Solving papers will give confidence in giving the main exam and candidates will be acquainted with the question pattern and time required to solve the question.
