What Is MPSC?
MPSC or Maharashtra Public Service Commission is created by the Indian Constitution for the purpose of recruitment of Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’ civil servants for Maharashtra State under the rules of reservation and based on merits.
MPSC Exam is carried out in two phases:
1. Preliminary Exam
- This exam has two papers each of 2 hours duration.
- They are based on general studies and civil services aptitude test.
- The nature of both papers is objective and carries 200 marks each.
2. Main Exam
- Candidates need to appear for 6 papers in the main exam, 4 for general studies and 2 are language-based.
- General studies papers are of objective type and carry 150 marks each.
- Both language papers are of 100 marks each and are of descriptive type.
