1. Verbal Section

Verbal section has the following areas:

• Verbal analogies-10 questions.
• Verbal classification-16 questions.
• Antonyms-9 questions.
• Synonyms-15 questions.

2. Quantitative Section

This section includes questions on the following topics:

• Number series-18 question.
• Number manipulation-17 questions.
• Geometric comparison-9 questions.
• Non-geometric comparison-8 questions.

3. Reading Section

In reading section of the HSPT exam area contains the following areas:

• Compression – 40 questions.
• Vocabulary – 22 questions.

4. Math Section

HSPT math section has two parts:

• Problem solving-40 questions.
• Test the knowledge on problem-solving on time, distance, work, and rate.
• Concept -24 questions.
• This section tests the knowledge of geometric functions, algebraic equations, basic math, number line, and mathematical operations.

5. Language Section

There are four parts in language sections as the following:

• Usage- 28 questions.
• Test the student’s knowledge in parts of speech like nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, etc.
• Capitalization and punctuation-12 questions.
• Test the knowledge in punctuation identification and errors in capitalization.
• Spelling – 10 questions.
• This section includes questions on vocabulary and spelling mistakes.
• Composition – 10 questions.
• Test knowledge on communication and language formation.
• In optional science, sections include questions on biological science, earth science, physical science, the implication of scientific technology, and principles of scientific research.
