Introduction To CAPF Exam
The following article provides an outline for CAPF Exam. The Combined Armed Police Forces Exam is conducted every year by the Union Public Service Commission for the recruitment of Assistant Commandant (Group A) officers in one of the seven security forces of the Indian region. CAPF 2021 is being conducted for the 159 posts all over India.

Like most other competitive exams, the Union Public Service Commission or UPSC is the conducting administrative authority of the CAPF Exam. This exam is conducted to select the candidates for the post of Assistant Commandant in security forces like BSF, CRPF, NSG, SSB, ITBP, AR, and CISF.

CAPF Exam Pattern
CAPF exam is conducted in offline mode at various exam centers all over India.
The process consists of three phases:
- Written Exam
- Medical Test
- Interview

CAPF Exam Eligibility
Aspirants should make sure that the eligibility criteria set by the conducting committee are fulfilled perfectly before applying for the CAPF Exam.
The eligibility criteria depend upon three factors:
- Age Limit
- Nationality
- Educational Qualification
- Physical Standards
- Medical Standards
1. Age Limit
According to the official notification released by the UPSC, the age limit of the desired candidate must be 20-25 years as of 01 August 2021.
The exemption of age limit for various conditions is mentioned in the below table:

2. Nationality
The candidate must fulfill one of the conditions mentioned below:
- The desired candidate must have permanent citizenship in India.
- The candidate belonging to Bhutan or Nepal citizenship are also deemed eligible for CAPF Exam.
- Candidates belonging to any other country are not allowed to apply for the CAPF Exams. If they wish to apply, they need to present a consent letter from the central government in written form.
- No bars on gender for applying CAPF Exams that are both male and female candidates can apply for the exams.
3. Educational Qualification
- Desired candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university.
- Candidates waiting for their results of the final year are also eligible to apply for the CAPF Exam 2021. In this scenario, admission for CAPF Exam is considered to be provisional until the candidate submits the proof document of passing the examination of the final year after qualifying for the CAPF Exam.
